Introduction. From September 11 to 15, 2023, St. Petersburg hosted the XXIV Congress of the I. P. Pavlov Russian Physiological Society, one of the largest scientific forums in our country. The scientific event is of great interest to scientists and practitioners, students of biological and medical specialties, as well as a wide audience of people interested in scientific research in this field.
The purpose of the study is to present the key topics and research areas discussed at the congress and summarize new research results in the physiology of sports.
The results of the study and their discussion. This year, the congress brought together more than 1,500 well-known scientists from 72 cities of our country. Within its framework, 49 symposiums were held in various fields of physiology, at which more than 700 face-to-face reports and about 800 poster presentations were made. At the Congress, professors R. M. Gorodnichev (Velikiye Luki GAFK) and N. N. Sentyabrev (Volgograd GAFK) organized and held a symposium "Physiology of Sports".
A number of reports were devoted to the results of the work of large scientific schools. A. A. Melnikov (Russian University of Sports "GTSOLIFK") presented the results of studies on the regulation of the vertical posture of athletes. A.V. Kabachkova, a representative of the Tomsk Physiological school, reported new data on the effect of physical activity on the blood circulation of the brain. R. M. Gorodnichev and S. A. Moiseev made presentations on new aspects of the organization of locomotion in sports activities. N. N. Sentyabrev presented the results of a generalization of long-term studies by a group of physiologists from the Volgograd Academy of Physical Culture of the effects and mechanisms of ergogenic effects in sports. In addition, the reports of researchers from the North Caucasus Federal University N. G. Belyaev and co-authors were heard. on the early diagnosis of myocardial disorders, L.And Gubareva on the psychophysiological characteristics of wrestlers. The report of the representative of the Institute of Biomedical Problems (SSC RF - IMBP RAS, Moscow) E. M. aroused great interest. Ledneva and co-authors on the molecular mechanisms of the influence of strength training.
At the poster session of the symposium, 15 reports on sports issues were presented, prepared by researchers from various regions, including from the largest research centers: P. F. Lesgaft National University (St. Petersburg), RUS "GTSOLIFK" (Moscow), P. K. NIINF. Anokhina, FITZ "Komi NC UrO RAS", Syktyvkar, KGUFKST, Krasnodar, "Volga GUFKSiT", Kazan, FNC VNIIFK, RUDN (Moscow).
