Objective of the study was to generalize the experience of using distance technologies in the universities of physical culture in China.
Methods and structure of the study. The paper uses statistical research methods to evaluate the results of the use of distance technologies in the universities of physical culture in China.
Results and conclusions. As a result of studying the experience of using distance technologies in Chinese universities of physical culture, it was found that the practice of using MOOCs (massive open online courses) is the most common in them. In total, in 2021, Chinese universities published 130 online courses for classes in physical education and sports, which were presented on thirteen different MOOC platforms. From the point of view of the structure of the training courses presented at the MOOCs, it should be noted the prevalence of courses on the general theory of physical culture and sports (62%). At the same time, the analysis of the content of the courses showed that a significant part of them contains a practical component (65%). The most active online courses are being developed by Beijing University of Physical Education, which published 11 online courses on Chinese MOOC platforms in 2021.
Many universities are currently actively attempting to develop MOOC courses in physical culture and sports, while it should be taken into account that the practical component prevails in such courses. The analysis of teachers' opinions on the use of distance technologies in higher education institutions of physical culture revealed a number of problems, the solution of which is important to achieve a more effective use of these technologies in teaching disciplines in physical culture and sports in higher education.
