Objective of the study was to substantiate the organizational structure of the modern system of training qualified sprint swimmers specializing in freestyle swimming.
Methods and structure of the study. In accordance with the goal, an analysis was made of the theoretical and scientific-practical works of domestic and foreign authors who studied the system of training highly qualified athletes over the past five years. The material for the study was the real training process of sprinter-rabbit swimmers swimming at distances of 50 m and 100 m (boys). The study was carried out on the basis of identifying the main components of the training process and the organizational structure of training.
Results and conclusions. The main components of the organizational structure of the modern system of training qualified sprint swimmers who specialize in short-distance freestyle swimming are: the technique and tactics of the start, swimming the preparatory sections of the turn and finish, together with anthropometric and bioenergetic indicators. In the training process, one should take into account the peculiarities of the energy supply of the muscular activity of sprint swimmers and their level of development, technical actions from the start, the turn and ending with the finish.
