Dynamics of indicators of speed and strength fitness of tennis students

Introduction. The high level of development of speed and strength abilities not only ensures the successful educational activity of students, their achievement of high sports results, but also has a positive impact on the development of other motor abilities.
The purpose of the study is to determine the dynamics of indicators of speed and strength training of tennis students.
Methodology and organization of the study. Pedagogical research involved the use of battery tests: Test No. 1. Long jump from the spot. Three attempts were made, the test went according to the best result. Test No. 2. Jump up from a place with a push of two legs. Three attempts, scoring on the average result. Test No. 3. Triple jump from a place with a push of two legs. After three attempts, the best result is counted. Test No. 4. Throwing a stuffed ball weighing 1 kg with two hands from behind the head. Three attempts were made, the test went according to the best result. Test No. 5. Throwing a stuffed ball weighing 1 kg with one hand from a standing position. After three attempts, the best result is counted. Test No. 6. Lifting the trunk from the supine position in 20 seconds.
The age of the subjects was 19 ± 1 year, height – 175-188 cm, weight – 75-86 kg. Testing was carried out in three stages: in September 2021, January 2022, July 2022 on the basis of the Russian University of Sports "GTSOLIFK".
Research results and their discussion. According to the study, the greatest positive dynamics is observed in the results of the tests "Lifting the trunk from the supine position in 20 Seconds" by 17%, "Jumping up from a place with a push of two legs" by 5.7%. The least positive changes were noted in the performance of the tests "Long jump from a place" by 3% and "Throwing a stuffed ball weighing 1 kg with two hands from behind the head" by 2%.
Conclusions. In the course of the study, a positive dynamics of the level of speed and strength training of students was revealed, as evidenced by the results of the tests presented in this paper. Thus, it is possible to note the effectiveness of the training process carried out in the system of physical education of students of a sports profile in the direction of training "tennis".
