Regression model of general motor fitness of hockey players of different gender and age groups

Objective of the study was to develop regression models of the general preparedness of hockey players.
Methods and structure of the study. The scientific work involved 56 hockey players and 38 hockey players of various qualifications and roles (N=94), who were divided into samples corresponding to the selected age (from 10 to 17 years). General tests were performed outside the ice (a test of the speed of a simple visual-motor reaction, a jump test (a jump up from a place without swinging arms, a test for maximum oxygen consumption on a treadmill (ramp test)). In the samples, a regression line was built, the statistical significance of the equation of which was assessed using the F-test at a significance level of p=0.05.
Results and conclusions. Among the considered indicators, reliable and statistically significant (p≤0.05) regression equations depending on age were obtained only for such indicators as: the duration of a simple visual-motor reaction, the height of the jump up from a place without swinging arms (only boys), absolute (boys and girls) and relative (only boys) repulsion power in a jump, repulsion power in a jump. For other indicators, the calculated regression equations based on the results of the F-test were not statistically significant (p>0.05). Based on the selected linear regression equations, regression models of the age dynamics of the indicators of the general readiness of hockey players (speed of a simple visual-motor reaction, jumping, speed-strength and strength readiness) were constructed.
