Introduction. The speed of movement and the accuracy of strokes, integrally reflecting the development of such physical qualities as speed, power, speed of reaction and coordination, are the most important factors determining the effectiveness of a tennis player's actions on the court. The improvement of physical qualities should be solved inseparably with the growth of technical skills of young tennis players [1].
The purpose of the study is to scientifically substantiate the positive impact of fitness tennis on the physical fitness of tennis players for competitive activities.
Methodology and organization of the study. During the study, the nature of exercises in various fitness areas was analyzed, conditions were created that form universal fitness skills, as well as the results of tennis players' performances in RTT competitions (Russian Tennis Tour). As part of the pedagogical research, a survey of tennis coaches and specialists was conducted. About 72% of the surveyed specialists consider the introduction of fitness tennis into the practice of physical training of young tennis players at the stage of sports specialization to be an important aspect.
The results of the study and their discussion. Exercises with the use of fitness tennis were in the nature of simulating the movements of various tennis strokes, simulating movements on the court, typological combinations and exercises to strengthen the muscles of the core and legs, balance and coordination. The level of loads developed by the complexes with the use of fitness tennis did not exceed 65-85% of the maximum permissible heart rate values for this age.
Studies have shown that the optimization of the physical training of tennis players using fitness tennis determines their readiness for competitive activity:
- improvement of the physical and functional condition of athletes;
- integrated formation of tennis skills;
- coordination of the work of the hands and feet when moving around the court, when serving, when hitting backhand (left), forehand (right), overhead (smash) and rally strikes;
- reduction of the number of unforced technical errors on the background of fatigue.
Conclusion. The positive dynamics of the results of performances of young tennis players at RTT competitions indicates the effectiveness of fitness tennis programs in the physical training of young tennis players and the need to introduce fitness tennis at the stage of sports specialization.
