Benefits of service biathlon model for cadets of Federal Penitentiary Service academies

Objective of the study was to substantiate, develop, test by experiment, and evaluate the shooting training model with the use of service biathlon means and methods in application to cadets of the higher educational institutions of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia.
Methods and structure of the study. Subject for the study were the means and methods of formation of shooting skills in cadets of the higher educational institutions of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia. The implementation of the model involved firing exercises against the background of fatigue caused by moderate physical activity. The model was tested on the basis of Federal State Educational Institution of Higher Education «Perm Institute of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia».
Results and conclusions. The effectiveness of model of formation of shooting skills in the cadets of the higher educational institutions of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia was validated experimentally and reflected in more significant positive changes in physical fitness, of the Experimental Group cadets as opposed to the Control Group ones.
The author conclude that the proposed model of formation of shooting skills in the cadets of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia by means of service biathlon makes their physical training more effective and could be recommended for the firearms training of cadets of the higher educational institutions specializing in national security, defence, and law enforcement.
