Extracurricular unassisted research and practical training formats for sports university students to advance their professional sports management competences

Abstract
Objective of the study was to develop and test benefits of extracurricular unassisted research and practical training formats for the sports university students to advance their professional sports management competences.
Methods and structure of the study. We developed and tested the following three extracurricular unassisted training formats: (1) research and practical conferences; (1) research contests and festivals; and (3) lectures and workshops at the relevant sports organizations. We sampled for the study the 1-4-year students of Russian State University of Physical Education, Sports, Youth and Tourism majoring in 38.03.02 Management of the Sports Management discipline.
Results and conclusion. The progress test data statistics for the four academic years under the study showed the extracurricular unassisted research and practical training formats for the sports university students being beneficial for the professional sports management competences.
