Keywords: saber fencing, highly qualified athletes and sportswomen, mutual attacks, offensive model of combat.

Thus, when deciding to attack, the athlete cannot know the intentions of the opponent, who in turn also intends to use the attack. Athletes, seeking to seize the initiative to start a fight, use actions that the judge can evaluate either as an attack by one of the participants in the duel, or as mutual attacks.
Despite the subjective assessment of the fencers' actions, the video replay of combat fights existing in this competition regulation allows objectifying the judges' decisions. So, discussing the features of competitive wrestling in saber fencing, it is impossible not to take into account the propensity of athletes to use mutual attacking actions, which together with attacks determines the choice of an offensive model of combat.
