Objective of the study was to assess the effectiveness of the application of an unstable platform in developing coordination skills in the cerebral-palsy-diagnosed children during walking.
Methods and structure of the study. The 9-month study was conducted at the Center for Adaptive Physical Education at Petrozavodsk State University. The Experimental Group was made of 16 children aged 9-11 years diagnosed with cerebral palsy, spastic diplegia. Their movement coordination skills were through the application of various types of walking using the unstable platform, including a treadmill and Gross's simulator.
Results and conclusions. At the ascertaining stage of the experiment, most of the subjects were found to have considerable difficulty performing such exercises as "1800 standing stop-turn" and "breaking on command while maintaining balance". The application of the experimental method resulted in a positive trend in the temporal characteristics of all types of walking, as well as in the Romberg test (pose) results. As a rule, the cerebral-palsy-diagnosed children do not perform the necessary amount of motor activity or move around independently.

Keywords: cerebral palsy, adaptive physical education, walking, coordination skills, equilibrium.
