Introduction. The willingness of parents to identify their children for sports is the first and important step for a nation to be athletic and healthy.
The purpose of the study is to conduct a pedagogical analysis of the readiness of parents to identify children for sports, on the basis of which to develop organizational and pedagogical measures to encourage parents to bring children to sports sections.
Methodology and organization of the study. To organize and conduct a socio-pedagogical analysis of the attitude of parents to children's sports, a questionnaire was developed, which included questions of different directions. For three months, a sociological survey was conducted on the basis of a questionnaire of parents whose children are engaged in sports sections. 30 parents took part in the survey.
The results of the study and their discussion. The questionnaire analysis of the parents ' attitude to children's sports activities showed that they have an idea of the type of sports that the child will be engaged in; they know for what purpose they bring children; they plan professional sports activities for children; they consider it important and necessary for children to play sports, and they also know that sports socialize children and prepare them for active interactions in adult life. We also note that, as a rule, children are brought to sports by parents who have experience in physical education.
Conclusion. Many parents have no idea that children need to develop a culture of sports at an early stage, and not physical qualities and athletic success. In order for parents to better understand the need for children to play sports, and to bring more children to sports clubs, it is necessary to develop a number of organizational and educational activities for parents within the educational system: kindergarten, school and university. All this together will help to increase the overall readiness and culture of parents to identify children for sports, mass participation in children's sports and the formation of the image of a sports power.
