Objective of the study was to generalize the existing sources of financing of student sports clubs and to develop an optimal approach that seeks to improve its effectiveness.
Methods and structure of the study. The authors systematized the regulatory framework of financing of the student sports club activities and conducted a comparative analysis of the sources of financing of student sports clubs of various legal statuses.
Results and conclusions. Student sports clubs as academic structural units have access to most budgetary and extra-budgetary sources of financing. Sports clubs as social associations can also receive great funding from budgetary and extra-budgetary sources, but only within the framework of the projects implemented. The clubs established under the physical education and sports faculties may use the budgetary funds for educational purposes only.
Therefore, the effectiveness of the budgetary funding of physical education and sports activities with trainees can be improved through the joint activities of student sports clubs as academic structural units, structural units that realize compulsory and elective physical education and sports disciplines (modules), and social associations in the physical education and sports sector, which activities closely correlate with the above-mentioned organizations.
