Means and methods of maintaining competitive fitness of elite weightlifters

Abstract
Objective of the study was to develop and theoretically and experimentally substantiate the method of maintaining competitive fitness of elite weightlifters based on the interval training method within annual training cycle.
Methods and structure of the study. The developed methodology is based on the application of the interval training method and is aimed at the regular growth of sports and technical skills, development and maintenance of a high competitive fitness level.
The methodology includes: planning of a one-year training cycle; application of remedial measures both during training sessions and on rest days, including joint and breathing gymnastics, myofascial release therapy, elements of autotraining, massage (preparative, training, remedial), psycho-regulatory training, bath.
Results and conclusions. The distinctive features of the experimental methodology: optimal combination of exercises with increasing intensity and strict regulation of rest intervals between repetitions (up to 40-45 sec), between approaches (2-3 min); application of means of active rest, balanced breathing techniques, psycho-regulation procedures, myofascial release; increase in the number of exercises (volume) and their complexity (orientation), increase in the total number of exercises taking into account all trainings per year (intensity); individual dosing of physical loads based on heart rate (except for the rigid mode), which excludes the possibility of overstrain of athletes.
The study proved the applicability of the experimental means and methods aimed to maintain a high competitive fitness level in highly-skilled weightlifters.
