Abstract

Objective of the study was to identify the features of improving special physical qualities of junior badminton players [(7-10 years old).
Research methods and structure. Junior badminton players aged 7-8 years old and 9-10 years old (boys and girls separately) took part in the educational experiment. To develop a special physical qualities building methodology the content and volume of exercises (load volume, intensity and number of repetitions), prevailing techniques and game action areas (front, middle, back), exercise sequence and their location in terms of specific training were individually determined. The educational experiment lasted 9 months. Control testing was carried out three times - in October 2019, in January and April 2020.
Results and Conclusions. It was found that the growth rates of the physical fitness indices of junior badminton players in coordination stability, coordination endurance and strength abilities are different when performing control tests using the right (leading) and left (jumping) leg both in boys and girls aged 7-8 and 9-10 years old.
The intragroup differences in the tested indicators indicate that the physical qualities building process for junior badminton players should be considered in close connection with their individual age and gender characteristics.
The obtained results of the conducted research confirm that the optimal planning of physical training of junior badminton players should be carried out on the basis of an individual approach to each athlete and taking into account the multifactorial analysis of educational and competitive activity.
