Objective of the study was to identify changes in the blood circulation of the shin of track athletes and powerlifters after physical loads using the kinesio taping technique.
Methods and structure of the study. Rheovasography was performed in a state of rest and after physical loads (PWC170), both with and without the use of kinesio tape. The taping method applied was a microcirculatory one / lymphatic correction or "Tunneling". The sensors were fixed on the upper and lower third of the shin and the ankle.
Results and conclusions. In the powerlifters, there were changes in the blood circulation in the upper (increased elasticity module and diastolic index after physical loads, taping mitigated these changes) and lower third of the right shin (increased Alpha value and elasticity module after taping). The track athletes were found to have changes in the blood circulation in all the segments of both legs. In all the segments of the right leg, there were changes in the venous outflow: increased outflow in the upper third of the shin and decreased one in the lower third of the shin and in the ankle. In the upper third of the left shin, the values of Alpha and Alpha 1 increased under the influence of taping. In the lower third of the left shin, the elasticity module increased and the venous outflow decreased. In the ankle, there was an increase in Alpha 1 value.
The authors conclude that for track athletes kinesio taping is an effective means to modulate blood circulation in the lower limbs.
