Objective of the study was to assess the results of the functionality tests of mature individuals in middle altitude trainings.
Methods and structure of the study. The study group was made of 12 people (men and women equally) aged from 35 to 48 (on average 40 years). All participants were amateur athletes. Their physical and athletic training levels were uniform and corresponded to the third senior degree in mountaineering (skyrunning). There were no contraindications for physical exercise and sports activities. The subjects' heart rate (HR) and oxygen saturation of peripheral blood (SpO2) were registered using the portable pulse oximeter "ChoicemmedMD300C318". The concentration of lactic acid (or lactate) was measured by the portable biochemical analyzer AccutrendPlus.
Results and conclusions. It is shown that acclimatization, even in the middle altitude conditions is of phase nature; moreover, changes in the recorded indicators do not depend on gender. There were significant fluctuations in the first week, with maximum deviations on the 5th day of the training camp. During the second week, all indicators were normalized and stabilized. We detected a correlation between the subjects' age and the level of hypoxia in the 1st day of stay in the middle mountains - the older the participant the more pronounced their hypoxia. Even in the absence of significant physical loads, a stay above 2,000 m was shown to be accompanied by lactacidosis. Finally, recommendations were made for middle altitude training planning and acclimatization control for adults.
