Objective of the present study was to conduct a theoretical analysis of the operation of the leading European football federations to identify the underlying constructors that contribute to their efficient work.
Methods and structure of the study. In 2019, more than 100 sources of scientific and methodological literature on the research topic were analyzed. For the most part, three leading football federations from the following countries were analyzed: England, Germany, and Spain. The analysis of the football federations activities was carried out according to the following criteria: structure, content, management, financing, logistics, training of sports reserve, judiciary corps, coaching staff, etc.
Results of the study and conclusions. The analysis enabled to reveal the structure and content of the leading football associations of England, Germany, and Spain. The operating efficiency of the above-mentioned football associations was determined primarily by the clear organization of all activities, from children’s football to professional football; material support not only by the government but also by various commercial entities and sponsors. It is particularly important to note that football is No. 1 sport in these countries.
