Objective of the given study was to develop a methodology of swimming training of the Fire and Rescue Academy cadets on the basis of their anthropometric characteristics.
Methods and structure of the study. The study was carried out at the premises of the sports base of the Fire and Rescue Academy and involved the 1st-year cadets (n=50). Generally accepted theoretical and practical methods were applied for the study purposes: analysis, generalization, systematization, questionnaire survey, opinion poll, anthropometric measurements, testing, educational experiment, mathematical and statistical processing of the data obtained.
Results of the study and conclusions. We developed the differentiated methodology of swimming training of the Fire and Rescue Academy cadets and tested it by experiment based on their anthropometric indicators. The designed pilot model of swimming training contributed to the improvement of the educational process, which was reflected in the fact that 90% (p<0.05) of the total number of non-swimmers mastered the swimming techniques after a year of training; at the same time, in the Control Group, trained in accordance with the traditional methodology, only 27% (p>0.05) of subjects learned to swim.
