Objective of the study was to develop a diagnostic protocol and test the functional status of the locomotor system of athletes engaged in cyclic and situational sports.
Methods and structure of the study. The repeated jumps test protocol developed for application on the BTS Motion System includes the following parameters to be tested to assess the functional status of the locomotor system: fatigue index, maximal repulsive force, power, height and number of jumps in four 15-second intervals, EMG bioelectric potentials. This test protocol can be used as a stress test in sports, where strength and speed-strength endurance is the limiting motor quality.
Results of the study and conclusions. As a result of testing of the protocol, we were able to determine the following gender-specific differences in the functional status of the locomotor system of the track and field athletes performing the Bosco repeated jumps test: the male athletes demonstrated higher rates of the maximal repulsive force before the jump and maximal jump height in the third period, a lower fatigue index; they jumped higher and quicker. The highest level of speed-strength endurance was found among the fencers and track and field athletes, followed by the football players and martial artists, the lower level of speed-strength endurance as registered in the athletes engaged in crossfit and volleyball.
