Key words: Arabic-speaking (mainly Muslim) contingent, Russian sports universities.

Introduction. In the countries of the Arab world, there is still no rigid separation of mass sports and sports of the highest achievements. In the Arab world, sport is relatively poorly separated from the General sphere of physical culture, which, in turn, does not have a clear separation and autonomy from the social sphere of life in General. In particular, there is no such clear autonomy in the field of public policy. In other words, in the state and civil society of the Arab world, sports activities are considered in close connection with education, health care, religious, cultural and socio-political ideological aspects.
The aim of the study is to identify social factors of expansion of the contingent of Arab students of physical education University on the basis of sociological analysis.
Methodology and organization of the study. A pilot concrete sociological study (CSI) was conducted at the Russian state University of physical culture, sports, youth and tourism (Rsufksmit) in 2018 using the methods of survey, expert evaluation, analysis of documents, included observation. The information received in the context of this problem for the last 5 years was taken into account. The objectives of the study were to identify, classify and assess social factors that affect the prospect of expanding the contingent of foreign students of Rsufksmit at the expense of representatives of the Arab world.
The results of the study and their discussion. Arab students are characterized by belonging to the middle classes of the urban moderately religious population and to the official University-administrative structures. Arabic-speaking contingent due to a number of circumstances can be focused on various areas of specialized training and retraining. However, in the structure of educational programs and courses, sports training and General issues of physical education development must be balanced.
The expansion of the Arabic-speaking contingent in specialized Russian universities is naturally associated with the activities of the leadership of the Arab Diaspora in Russia, taking into account the role of which it is advisable to organize all the main work on the recruitment of Arabic-speaking students and listeners.
Conclusion. The most promising direction of international cooperation in the University are relations and student exchange with China and other countries of the far East region, with the countries of the post-Soviet space, with the Arab (mainly Muslim) world.
