Table tennis as an effective physical training method for students in a special medical group

Introduction. Table tennis is a universal means of increasing the level of physical fitness, which can be used among students of a special medical group, as it allows them to simultaneously develop movement speed, coordination abilities, speed–strength abilities, general endurance [1, 2].
The purpose of the study is to identify the attitude of students to table tennis classes as part of the educational process at the university.
Methodology and organization of the study. The questionnaire survey was attended by 50 students (30 boys and 20 girls), students of the RANEPA 3rd year, engaged in a special medical group.
The results of the study and their discussion. Most of the students (90%) are interested in table tennis, but 10% of them could prefer another sport, 10% of students are not interested in table tennis classes. It turned out that 50% of students liked the "simplicity of the rules" most of all in table tennis, 30% "no risk of injury" and 20% "no need for strength training".
Answers were given to the question "What do you dislike most about table tennis?": 30% of students noted the monotony of the game, 20% were annoyed by the "sounds of the ball hitting the table and the racket", 5% disliked the need to stand in one place, 4% chose the answer "other", and 44% I like everything.
When asked about the assessment of the impact of tennis on the health of students, 25% of respondents noted an improvement in vision, 40% – an increase in endurance to other physical activities, 30% of students noticed a decrease in the number of unpleasant vegetative symptoms. However, 5% said that they did not notice any improvement in their health.
Conclusions. Table tennis classes have a number of advantages over other outdoor sports and are positively perceived by students of a special medical group.
