Biomechanical characteristics of the bar lifts to the chest in three approaches of the leader of the European champion

Objective of the study was to evaluate the biomechanical characteristics of clean of the Olympic champion L. Talakhadze in three approaches.
Methods and structure of the study. In this work, a comparative analysis of the technique of three approaches performed by the Olympic champion, world record holder L. Talakhadze was carried out. The weight of the bar in three approaches was 245, 253, 263 kg, respectively. The following were evaluated: the duration of the phases, the mutual position of the athlete-barbell at the boundaries of the phases. Horizontal and vertical displacements, speeds and accelerations of the bar end were calculated. The results of high-speed video filming (250 fps) conducted at the European Championships in Moscow were used. The MaxTraq 2D software was used to mark the points at the end of the barbell neck. The software developed by NIIT MGAFK was used to calculate the kinematic and dynamic characteristics of the rod movement.
Results and conclusions. The analysis showed that the biomechanical characteristics in approaches with the maximum weight and with a weight of 93.2% of the maximum differ markedly. The results obtained cast doubt on the possibility of using approaches with a weight of 80-85% of the current maximum result for the analysis of an athlete's technique. The issue of determining the range of bar weights, for which the biomechanical characteristics of its movement are close to those in the approach with the maximum weight for an athlete, requires additional study.
